Laguna III Windscreen Washer Reservoir

How big is this??
I know its capacity in litres but I am sure ours must be bottomless. Considering it holds the washer fluid for the windscreen, back window & the Xenon lights it must be huge, or very efficient.
Our car is now almost 3 months old and has approx 3000 miles on the clock - yet I have not yet refilled the washer reservoir or topped it up once. Considering a lot of the mileage in the early days was on salt covered wet/snowy mortorways and even todays 160 mile round journey was fighting a losing battle with the squashed flies!

Is there a low level warning light still on these models? There is no mention of it in the user manual but I thought it was a legal requirement if Xenon lights were fitted!
Either it isnt working or I still havent got down to a low enough level.

Todays journey was all on A roads, no dual carrieageways and several traffic lights, tractors ( this is the South West), slow traffic in town etc I averaged 51.1mpg.

I would of though that there would be a low level indicatorlike you say though it could well be just ificent with lots of fluid left in it,

If your that eager to find out you could just keep pressing the button till it empties itself to see?? which to be honest doesn't sound like it will take that long if its been that long from you filled it,

Cheers Donald

Re: Laguna III Windscreen Washer Reservoir

I vaguely remember my first two Lagunas going between services without me ever having to top up the screenwash, in summer at least. They do seem to fit pretty big bottles on the Lagunas.

I was forever topping up the last car, but that had more to do with its insistence in emptying the contents of the reservoir onto the road if I parked it on a sideways slope. The one before it did it for most of its life too. As I recall, they fixed it at one point, but then broke it again when they put the new gearbox in.

I do remember that my Lag I's didn't have the sensor because (for some bizarre reason, probably a grudge over Agincourt) Renault didn't fit the level switch on RHD models. Perhaps they've brought the same stupidity back to the Lag III, though if your washers are still working, I'd be more inclined to assume that you just have plenty of fluid left.

I should think my deceased Uncle must have held the world record for not having to fill his washer bottle.

1977 He bought a new Toyota Celica GT
In 1982 & after an health scare, he asked me if I would drive him to Bridge North.

During the journey I screen washed the window, the stuff that came out of the jets was a bright orange colour.

I asked him WTF he put in the screen wash bottle.

His reply was "I don't know what it is, it was in there when I had the car.

Re: Laguna III Windscreen Washer Reservoir

I think that's in the 3-3.5 liters range as I'm used to refill when the pressure becomes low and I can put in about 2/3 of the 5 liter refill I use.
I've noticed no indication of liquid ending on the dashboard when the pressure was greatly reduced, but I've not tried to finish completely the liquid to test.
