renault espace problem please help

hi everyone new to forum i have just bought a renault espace r reg got it home and there was a banging on drivers side wheel and movement on wheel we ran seller and requested it looked at as it had a mot 7 days before and i felt it was unsafe to drive 4 children around in. seller agreed it could be rust as it was stood for 4 years (didnt tell us this when sold got car back yesterday after being told there was nothing wrong with it. after drivind it was very clear something had been done as wheel didnt move but the was still a bit of knocking had all 4 kids out in it today and steering started shaking got neighbour macanic to look and the is yet again play in the wheel im waiting to get it into garage does anyone have any idea what it might be and should it really have passed an m.o.t

Could be as simpleas a wheel bearing, hopefully. This normally give play from top to bottom of a wheel if it's failed. If the car has been sat for a while it's not unheard of something like this suddenly going, the problem may not have occured until you drove the car for any length of distance which wouldn't be the sellers falut, however, if it was not advertised the fact that car had been sat for so long then it's false advertising I would say. You may have very good grounds for returning the car for a refund under the trade descriptions act.

If you are in any doubt, speak with trading standards to see where you stand

Any of my above advice is purely my own opinion and as such may be incorrect with regards to any claim you may/may not have over the seller
