Re: Calling all Laguna II Owners, need your comments!

Wow, completely forgot about this thread, email notifications all just came through at once!

Well, I've owned 5 Laguna IIs since posting! And Paul, given the price yours were, I know you'll understand why. My first, a 51 plate 1.8 Privilege manual was bought for £995 in August of last year. Following that was two 1.6 Dynamiques. I love the interior of these models, but the 1600 engine should never have been put in the Laguna, it's far too underpowered. Both of those cars cost me £425.

After that came a 1.8 Expression. Very comfortable cloth seats in these. It cost me £350. As did my last one, a V6 Auto Sport Tourer. A fantastic car, that engine is beautiful, and with it being an estate, was really surprising to other road users when the right foot was planted.

What faults have I come across? Lock buttons on key cards break off and rattle inside. Only one car out of five had a full set of working tyre pressure sensors. Two out of five had one faulty electric window. One of them leaked into the passenger footwell (blocked sunroof drain). Climate control display needed the backlight fixed on all but the V6.

A lovely car. Although I recently bought a mark one Laguna. The difference in build quality is massive, the mark one feels much more solid, and everything works in it as well! So yes, I've become a bit of a serial Laguna buyer since I started the thread, and when they're at such low prices I'd say there's many more to come. I'll be avoiding the dCis though. They're a liability.

Paul, nice set of Lagunas there. You're a generous man giving the wife the V6!

Re: Calling all Laguna II Owners, need your comments!

I've owned a 2006 Laguna II for a year now and it's going strong!

I've driven about 21k this year and I can tell my cambelt needs replacing (tensioner rattle) so I'll get that done. Though after a year of pushing my engine hard, motorways etc, my turbo still sounds the way it was when I bought it! Fine! Not too loud and not too quiet!

It's been very reliable to me! (touch wood)
