Smelly aircon

high everyone.
can anyone tell me how to git rid of the awfull smell(swetty socks I think)that comes through the vents when I put the aircon on. It only lasts for a few mins but is rather off putting to say the least.

I have the same problem, although I thought it smelled more like eggs (the rotten kind). Last for a minute or so, then is gone again. Doesn't even happen every time either. I suspect it needs a new filter of some sort?

You may need to change the pollen filter, either in engine bay or behind glovebox depending on model. Failing that the cooling matrix can get a build up of bacteria on it as the condensation that collects can go off. There are several products that can be used to remove the bacteria

Same problem here too....STILL.

But for me it smells like an old pair of urine impregnated underpants someone has decided to try and dry out somewhere in the aircon system.

Took it into the dealer a few weeks back, they didnt change any filters despite the request that they did. They just ran some kind of peach scented stuff through the system. It was fine for a week or so, but now (with the hot weather?) its back with a vengance, and no matter how long I run the aircon for the smell persists
