neleh needs a new motor

The missus (neleh) needs a new car. We've decided on a fairly modest budget circa 6000 and she's got a few models in mind:

o Ford Fiesta (probably the last series)
o Renault Clio (definately NOT the new series)
o Honda Jazz

I've also suggested:

o Renault Modus
o Mercedes A-class (slightly older model for the budget)

Absolute musts:

o 5 doors
o Less than 2 years old (apart from the A-class)
o Air-con

Would like:

o CD player
o Climate control

Alloy wheels are optional. If you saw her wheel trims you'd know why

Any other suggestions or any pointers to good deals much appreciated!

For a hassle free life, buy Japanese.

The Honda Jazz is the pick of the bunch....

The Fiesta is now a damn good car,but Ford dealers aren't so great,on the whole(warranty work....).
How about a Mazda 3 or Toyota Yaris?.

Have you bought your Subaru Legacy yet??

Edit: DON'T buy an A class......they're not all their cracked up to be........please!

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....

Uhm - the Mazda5 is probably a bit outside the budget. They all seem to be high milers for our budget which is probably Ok but at 70,000 miles she'll biff Nice motor mind!

Looked at the Mazda2 and these look a bit titchy too

motor , neleh
