Fuel Consumption

scenic 11 1.6 vvt 50,000 mles what sort of mileage should i be getting .. my average reading says anything between 25 and 33 mpg even driving like a pensioner on a sunday jaunt

How are you checking your MPG if you are using the onboard computer they are not that accurate. It would be best to neck the tank and then neck it again at the next fill and work it out the old fashioned way. It would also depend on the type of driving you do, whether a lot of stop starts or motorway driving. If it is town driving I would say that you are getting reasonable MPG

If you take it down a motorway after resetting the trip computer what sort of MPG are you getting at a steady 60mph? My 1.6 16v returns just over 50mpg at a steady 60mph and is showing an average of 34mpg over the last 900 miles which is probably 50/50 motorway, SW London driving. Is it a manual or auto?
