megane coupe gearstick movement

hello to everyone i`m new on here i have a renault megane coupe 2002 model and the gearstick seems to move quite bad when i change gear no problems selecting gear just when the throttle is pressed you see a movement and it feels quite bad the more aggresive you are changing or putting you foot down like a engine mount is worn but as i havent had a renault before dont know if this is how its supposed to be but i`d say not can anyone help is this a common fault

If there is a lot of play in the stick when jumping on and off the gas peddle then it will probably be the rear engine/gearbox mount. I had this same problem, ramped the car up and wedgied the joint to see and realised there was a load of play in it. changed it and now smooth as it should be. I think this is quite a common issue.. was a massive thread on this on coupeclub. It doesnt say what engine size your car is cos i think you can get a clio 172 mount that is the same fitting but its harder wearing but depends on what your coupe is.

Take it to a local garage/tyre fitter and ramp it up to check the mount.
If it wants changing think they are about 35 quid ish from renault. then just fit it yourself ... or pay the lad down the garage a tenner to do it for you if you cant...

my laguna has alot of gearstick movement so i think ill check this mount

yeah ive heard about this before my mum had a megane coupe and she had the mount changed and it was fine after that think mines going down the same route as well
