MOT completed then brakes failed please help

hi all.
i bought a lovely Renault Laguna estate/sport tourer 2001 yesterday from a large car had a new MOT done by the company a couple of days ago. on the way home the brakes failed luckily near to our local garage. the mechanic was horrified and us too as we had been sold a seriously unsafe car. the repairs have been paid for by the company. i have written a e mail to them this morning explaining the whole story and asking what they are going to do about hopefully compensatng us for this nightmare.i am still awaiting there response. do you think it is likely they will pay up and is there anything i can do to strengthen my case.

nb still love the car though its just what we were after.

If you think that the car should not have passed an MOT a few days ago then you can report it to Vosa.. Vosa

They may do an independant inspection and may take remedial action against the garage concerned..

Some important quick notes on the MOT:

1: It does NOT mean vehicle is road worthy
2: It does NOT mean that the vehicle is legal to drive on the road
3: The test is only good for that time it is being inspected
