Thought this would be the best place to make this post.I have a 99 scenic 1.6 petrol and just as a matter of curiosity, when the petrol light comes on,how much petrol would you say is in the tank once it comes on?

Re: Scenic petrol light question!!!!

My 1.6 Laguna shows the petrol light generally when there's approx 40 miles left in the tank. Its not a good idea to run the car on the reserve light frequently because the pump tends to pick up crud from the bottom of the tank that will block the fuel filter. A lot of cars also rely on fuel to cool the fuel pump, running around with a little fuel drastically shortens the pump life due to overheating.
