I just been reading the same over on the Vauxhall forum. I guess the air bag and condition of the wiring are common sense not much point in having safety features if their not working or faulty wiring.

Don't see how they are going to enforce against modified or chipped ECU 's? How could you tell an ECU has been remapped unless you have all the standard settings to check against for all vehicles?

Next thing you won't be able to fit high lift cams or after market exhausts?

Guess some off these after markets HID lights can be blindingly bright thought I always seems there are more people driving around with incorrectly set headlamps. Headlamp aim is supposed to be checked on the current MOT

Hopefully this link will work,it should go to the latest edition of 'Matters Of Testing' and if you scroll down to the section regarding the future of the MOT test some of the above is mentioned.....

Edit;The 'Horror Story' is pretty impressive in this issue too.

I think there would have to be special provision made for specialist cars - after all it is possible to bulld your own car from scratch and have it approved for legal use on the road.
The only modification to comply with EU regs is the addition of a rear fog light. Everything else already complies!
