Re: have i been ripped off?

Looks like a fair price to me. Perhaps the discs were a little pricey, but it depends on whether they were Renaults parts or aftermarket.

Agree with Aviator.

I'd only go back if you felt something which has been charged for hasn't been done/done properly. I wouldn't go burning bridges on any other basis.

However, no service cost should come as a surprise, you should have a quote before they commence work (you can always shop around on this basis), and they should contact you to obtain permission for anything over & above what would be expected to be done.

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.

Seems fine! Buy four tyres for a Vel Satis and then you'll know the meaning of rip off!

Re: have i been ripped off?

Hello and welcome to the forum

The prices seem reasonable as suggested the discs seem a bit pricey as does £6 for an oil filter. However if the garage where to phone round every supplier for the best price on every spare I would think you would probably end up paying more for their telephone time than the savings you would make on the spares. It***8217;s a swings and roundabout situation.

I***8217;m sure a Renault Main dealers would have charged considerably more!

Thought personally I wouldn***8217;t even consider paying some one else to some thing I can do myself as I***8217;m fortunate enough to be able to do my own repairs.
