My local Shell garage has already started selling V Power (well.. the Optimax pumps are now stickered up as V Power... Probably still full of Optimax I bet!! )

I used Optimax in my Pug 106 after having it chipped and it definately preferred it to normal unleaded, giving a much smoother pick up and better acceleration. Whereas, using Optimax in my Civic Type R made no difference at all!! Tested it a few times by running almost empty and filling up with either normal or Optimax, then after 3 tanks, went back to the other unleaded to compare.

Ended up sticking to normal unleaded as it made no difference and was a lot cheaper, especially when filling up twice a week sometimes

I found a slight improvement in performance with Optimax but not the improved mpg as advertised

I was just reading that advert i saw again - it was BP Ultimate btw, i was mistaken.

I think their claim of a performance increase of a 270cc bigger engine is because of the special additives to clean your engine. I'm guessing as long as I use STP or Redex every so often, i'll get the same performance with normal unleaded?
