How long have you had your TT? It could be that the rechargeable batteries are knackered. The soon lose capacity , even if display says they are fully charged if they are knackered they will go flat very quickly. That may explain the going on and off for no apparent reason.

It might be worth charging the TT for 24hrs plugged in to the mains and see what happens - that may temporarily kick the batteries back into life.
As TT is fairly new I doubt your unit is that old anyway. If the batteries are faulty I would try and get TT to replace or contribute towards cost of replacements.

Fault rechargeable batteries are the bain of my life - a lot of Medical equipment use them as back up for mains failure and they provide all sorts of wierd and wonderful faults which sometimes don't even appear related.
