I have been told by my dealer the later Laguna II models are more reliable than earlier ones. That said there will always be good and bad at any age.
As with all new models of any make, the first year or so there are several niggly faults, some more major. The later in life of the model, in theory the more reliable. Our 04 model has done 22500 completley trouble free miles ( touch wood, probably go wrong tomorrow now) and has not had any of the more common failings of earlier Lag II's ( tyre pressure sensors being very unreliable on early cars apparently).

Make sure you get a warranty with tthe car if buying from a garage - all modern cars cost a small fortune to repair, not just Renaults. Also all cars WILL go wrong at some point in their life, unfortunately it seems to be a bit of a lottery as to whether you get a goodun or a badun.
