I had this on mine a few months ago. Unfortunately you wil just have to pull the trim near where the clips are - if you can get a flat pladed screw driver near the clip this can help. At worst it is easy to get hold of replacement clips (I had to replace 2) - at least it is not the panel that is damaged as the clips are removable.
When I sprayed water without the trim panel it was obvious it was coming through the brake light. Undid the screws to remove it to found the lense had come apart - tried sealing it, but eventually got a new part - whole unit from Renault aprox £42 which was not as bad as I thought.
Anyway worth a go - remove the panel, double check where the leak is coming from and take it from there.
This was the first issue I had with the car - damp boot - but half the battle is tracing the source of the leak - so hopefully you will half way there.
