Yes I replaced the sensor, fault was showing faulty circuit but old sensor wiring looked OK, no splits or chafing and for the cost of £15 it seemed worth a punt. You can swap both front sensors around and see if the fault moves, therefore confirming sensor failure. I did unplug and clean the connector end first as I read that this can sometimes cause an issue but in my case, the fault remained, albeit and intermittent one.
