If I remember correctly the window glass on the older Vauxhalls are gripped into a slot lined with rubber. Looks like the fitter done a bodge job as in my experience you could never get the slot properly cleaned without removing the door liner.

Renaults tend to have two holes in the glass which locate onto two plastic pins an entirely different set-up.
