That one should still display tyre pressures for a few seconds after starting the engine, there's just no way to bring up the display while driving unless it appears automatically due to low pressure on one of the tyres.

The fact that it doesn't appear at all says that the system has been disabled. The first thing I'd do is check that the car actually still has the pressure sensing valves fitted. Most tyre valves have a rubber stem that's a push fit into the wheel rim, but the Renault pressure sensing ones are metal all the way down and are held in place with a nut. If they're all of this type, then chances are that some or all of them will be working. Whether or not the receiver unit is working too (they tend to fill up with water which wrecks the electronics) is another matter.
