Question Servicing - is it a con?

All a bit of a weird on...

I just phoned my local renault for a first service on a megane II 86DCI they wanted 274.60 with a labour rate of 115ph

so i phoned a garage that a friend recommended in bath and they wanted 264.48 with a labour rate of 75ph

with such a big difference in labour rate i expected i much cheaper sevirce.

Something here is not adding up either local garage is using less or cheaper parts or Bath is using more parts or are more expensive.

What they local garage did tell me is that a sevice lasts for 1.6 hours (based on 0.6 per hour) which means parts are 80. (264-184)

I can't see why either are so expensive, parts for a service is surely oil , filter and airfilter???

any help recommendations would be helpful.
