The cheapest way of adding sat nav to your car is Tom Tom or Navman or one of the other portable devices. Advantages are you can move them easily from car to car and even when you re cycling/walking use it.
A blue tooth version is probably better as the bluetooth aerial can be placed elsewhere in the car without running wires around. The Tom Tom sat nav works quite well, the latest versions also allow for screen to dim when lights are switche don and to be connected to stereo for sound to use existing speakers. You can do quite a neat installation without any wires showing if you are careful. Because of the heat reflective windscreen, you will need an external aerial ( or internal bluetoth) which can I believe be mounted on the "black dotted" bit of the windscreen.
Other than that you would need to spend 1k approx to get a sat nav to fit in the slot of your existing stereo.
Also if you went for the Renault colour screen sat nav, you would have to replace your dispay as well. Unless you could get one from a salvage car, probably very expensive.
Portable sat nav is probably the way to go, but not as discrete as a permanantly fitted one.
