There was a press release posted to the forum a while back about this. I think they referred to it as the 'Clio 3 box.'
Regardless of looks, I don't think there's a market for a saloon car of that size in the UK at all. The second generation Mazda 121 certainly fell flat on its face so badly that they had to hastily replace it with a rebadged Fester, though that may have had as much to do with the price tag as the unconventional shape. The only one I can recall that was moderately successful was the Nova saloon, and even that didn't sell well compared to its hatchback counterpart.
When people buy a small car, they generally want the versatility of a hatchback. At least if you do ever need to shift something bigger than a Sainsburys bag, you can take out the parcel shelf and fold the seats down.
