Hi Tazy - it appears to be drivers door problem - do you have a door open display on the dash. It could be the drivers door micro-switch has jammed or broken and the system thinks the door is unlocked and obviously the system does'nt want to unlock a door which already open. Some systems also require the key to be pressed twice in quick succession to operate all doors - as sometimes pressing only once opens one door only. Do you know if your system has the deadlock facility. As the door locking and courtesy lighting system is controlled by the multi-timer fitting an alarm may not solve the problem and in fact could bugg** up the multi-timer. Also consider if the immobiliser system is not as original it may affect your insurance.
