Unlike the petrol where the octane levels are tightly controlled the cetane levels of diesel have a much wider permitted tolerance - maybe it is case where cetane is being added or some form of additive which reduces the sulphur content.
Low Sulphur ... I thought the reduction of sulphur was the cause of increased wear esp in pumps etc and also increased the fuel consumption ..... oh, and caused acid rain (the real reason for the sulphur reduction ... me thinks.)
So why would mine sound quiter and perform better, and give better fuel consumption if the sulphur was being reduced even further .... I understand that the cetane aids the combustion process but would that not lead to greater wear levels if the sulphur was reduced as well?
But has anyone else tried V-Power Diesel and noticed a difference?
Why is it the older I get .... the better I think I was ?
