a mechanic from my local garage first suggested Variable Valve Timing and Ottoman from this site thought the same, and i never mentioned than diagnosis to him!!! the engine is very noisy and rough, rev it between 2000 and 3000 then slowly come down to 1000 and it gets worse, like a transit van and thecar judders like it wants to stall, but you press the accelerator and the transit van noise goes away, leaving just the rumbling noise that is there constantly. its not the alternator (had that tested), or the water pump timimg belt or cambelt. what do you think? is it very hard to fix the variable valve timing?
