This is a picture of a Renault gearbox whilst it's out of the car.The passenger side driveshaft is fitted to the big round piece in the photo with the 3 bolt holes around it.......The green connector you can see is the reverse light switch.You should be able to locate it in situ with the passenger side front wheel removed.
To check the switch,remove the wire connector to the switch and arc across the wires with a short piece of wire.With the ignition on,the reverse lights should light up.If they do,then the switch is faulty,if not,then the problem is elsewhere in the system(fuse,wiring fault etc).
