That's a good result then
It sounds like the insurers will play ball, and your car's going into a proper 'garage' and not one of the repair specialists.
When I was involved in the rear-end shunt, the at fault party's insurers were great. I needed to tow the caravan that weekend and struggled to get a hire car with a towbar. The only thing I could find was a Discovery TD5 at 85 quid a day. They not only approved it for the duration of the holiday (a weekend) but practically insisted that I keep the Disco for the duration of the repair, when I was happy to downgrade to the standard runabout once I no longer needed to tow. As I recall, the hire car costs came to well over a grand.
Driving the Disco put me off large 4x4's pretty much for life though. The thing wallowed like a hippo, and braking sharply on the motorway was scary unless you had the steering set in a dead straight line. It also drank diesel a lot faster than the Lag drank petrol, but that's hardly surprising for a 2.5 tonne vehicle with the aerodynamics of a garden shed.
