Nice idea Jeff - but a picture wouldn't give you the essential demensions or type of materials you would need to manufacture your own - in order for it to work correctly it has to be a specific length, etc. Also remember by fitting non manufacturers parts may invalidate your insurance in the event of a claim. I don't believe Renault sell it separately from the regulating valve simply because when the rod goes the regualting valve is usually knackered and if the valve don't work correctly the car may fail MOT. For your own safety and the safety of others I suggest you have it repaired correctly.
