We've been using a Jane Indy Plus for the little 'un since just before he was 1 year old. According to the bumf, it's suitable for 9 months to 10 years (the back detaches and turns it into just a booster cushion when they're bigger) and 9-35 Kg.
The bonuses are that it's Isofix and less than £100 if you shop around. The down-side is that it has me wondering whether the standard 3 point seatbelt really is suitable for restraining a very young child - the seat does not have its own harness.
I work on the basis that if they said it was suitable for 9 months up, then it would have to be. At 2+, it certainly seems to make sense for him now, though I do still wonder what would have happened if we'd been in a serious smash when he was younger.
