I wonder why they've replaced the Indy Plus with a seat that only starts from 4 years up. Maybe they've been forced to admit that the standard 3 point seatbelt isn't suitable below that age. In which case, where does that leave my 2 year old if I'm involved in a severe impact?
We have a cheaper seat from Makro in the Clio - I forget the make, but it was on special offer at about 40 quid. It seems to be well put together and obviously it must have passed the required safety testing. It also has its own built-in 5 point harness, though it fastens into the car using the seat belt rather than Isofix.
If you're just looking at Isofix seats, then that may be what's restricting your choice. I know it's preferable to use the system if possible, but you may have to bite the bullet and go for a seat that fastens in using the conventional seatbelt.
