Re: I have a problem with my scenic brakes

Hi Ian

Did you clean up the piston on the caliper prior to winding it back in fully and also check that the slide pins push in and out easily?

I am assuming that the judder you feel is through the brake pedal rather than through the car as you mention it feels as though the ABS is cutting in. Not exact but you could check the disk by having the handbrake off, jack up side you suspect is faulty, remove road wheel and slowly turn the disc whilst looking at the gap between the brake pads and see if it changes, you can also insert a feeler gauge whilst turning to see if the gap closes and the feeler gauge becomes tight. If you do find your disc is warped its better to change both sides at the same time rather than just one
