Re: Scenic II 1.6 Check Injection Light on

Hope this stays fixed!
Mine ate its injector pump and I live out in the sticks in Ireland. Fuel tank was full of silver glitter, as was whole of injection system. Cost to date:
50 for petrol fuel tank (no chance of same prob)
40 for fuel lines/clips
15 for fuel primer
300 for recon fuel pump
75 for cambelt kit
50 for fuel rail/lines/pressure switch
400 for injectors
400 for can clip and software
100 for other bits and bobs
I did this out in the yard but would advise proper cover and a high lift jack. Don't bother with removing the exhaust from the manifold/ turbo (so says Haynes) as the studs will shear and you'll spend another whole day removing said turbo and re-tapping studs etc. Cut the exhaust with a disc cutter and buy an exhaust repair section (14.50) and the fuel tank is then easier to remove. Big thanks to Atlantic Diesels, Tralee, for the tip to use a petrol tank, as there is no way you'll get rid of all the metal dust from the tank and all its little crevices in a diesel tank (especially if you don't know its history). You can see why this job is so expensive at the garage!
