A friend of mine was stopped by the police because one of his brake lights was not working and the young police man was going to issue with him with a ticket but before he did he asked him to call out a police technical inspection team to inspect the car.
The police man said this was not needed as he could just issue the ticket, My friend who was an ex policeman then told him that it was to inspect the police car as one of the rear lights on the police car was not working!
The policeman decided to not bother with the ticket.
I know all members of this Forum in the above posts always test all their lights before going out for a drive?
but if you are stopped for having a faulty light tell the police you did test them that day and they were all working ok, so you have done everything possible to ensure your car was road legal and it is very unlikely they could do anything about it.
