I'm curious as to how this thing might work too. I can only assume that it detects rapid depression of the pedal and starts sending a 'full throttle' signal to the
while the pedal is still travelling to the floor.
Quite what performance advantage that would give you, I don't know. I can see how it might make the car 'feel' faster (it responds with more grunt to smaller pedal movements) but I imagine it makes it also makes it more difficult to drive the car with smooth throttle control.
Whichever way you look at it, I doubt it's worth 180 quid. You should be able to get something that gives genuine BHP gains (albeit marginal ones) for that kind of money.
