What is a service interval on a chain?????
For what it's worth, I had a V6 Cougar that used the Duratech engine which had chain driven cams. This is an extract from the on the subject from the owners club site :
The V6 does not have a Cambelt, it has chains. There is no specified time to change timing chains on a V6 and FWIW, the design of the chain (inverted teeth type Vs conventional roller)means that as the gears/chain wears the reverse teeth of the chain move deeper into engagement with the gear teeth. The biggest wear items in the valvegear drivetrain are the guideplates. xxxxx xxxxxx has reconditioned many 2.5 V6's , some over 100,000 miles and in all cases the chains/gears etc were in very good condition.
Of course, I don't know whether the Renault one will be of the same design.
