If the caravan is blowing interior fuses on the car, then the job has not been done correctly. The supplementary electrics socket should ideally have an independent feed run directly from the positive terminal of the battery, and any towbar fitter worth his salt would wire it like that.

By the sound of things, they've tapped into a circuit that's not capable of handling the load. Modern caravan fridges can pull 10-15 amps on their own, and a near flat caravan battery could be drawing a steady 7 amps, with a surge of 15 or more at start-up.
