Musing- why exactly the same vehicles drive differently...

I have been pondering this one for a while.

At work we have three vans all the same; two Renault Masters and a Vauxhall Movano. These are all the "same"; same spec, similar mileages yet all completely different to drive. One has a rediculously light clutch, one has a notchy gearchange and one has relatively heavy steering (all three have different radios). Crazy!

Another example is my Megane. I have a 1999 Alize phase 1 with the 1.6 8 valve engine. A friend of mine has a 1997 RT 1.6e - same engine yet the two cars when driven back to back are completely different! Again, crazy!

Just an indulgent musing on my part... Is it dependant on whether there's a day in the month when they're built? What are your thoughts?

Currently in Bob925's garage:
2015 '65 Vauxhall Astra SRi, and a variety of "lovely" buses
