Re: Scenic rear brake motor

Fitted refurb unit to my scenic yesterday and all sorted.
Not codes, park brake works and also the auto functions too.

For anyone interested for future bits.
I found a refurb company down near Newport in Wales. (Type scenic repair on eBay )
Send them the unit including cables to emergency release and metal bracket hanger, it costs 150 to replace the motor (new motor not refurb), Extra 30 if a relay needs doing, which probably will. There is also supposedly a pressure sensor but mine didn't need it.

They clear any fault codes, test unit and return it. Depending on what courier service you use, I used economy and was still back inside a week.

Good service and a lot cheaper than whole new unit then coding. Seem to be a garage doing it rather than some guy working in a spare room.

My belief in whole unit is designed to fail. The metal bracket rusts up (not sealed) causing strain on the cables and thus the motor and also if you do not notice callipers starting to seize up which again does the motor.
It isn't a hard job to do yourself to remove it.
