You'll be able to pick up a standard CD player relatively cheaply from Halfords or similar - you may need a wiring harness adapter (I'm not sure however). You'll also need a fascia adapter for the car, as the standard radio/cass has a curved front rather than a standard slot. These are available from car audio shops (about 16) or Renault (about a tenner). If you think he'll want to use the steering wheel controls then make sure you get a head unit that can be operated with one and you'll also need an adapter lead for that also (I think around 20 depending on the make of head unit).

If you want a brand new factory type CD player then you could try the Renault dealer; but I'm guessing that they won't be cheap if they do stock them! I got a perfectly good second hand Renault one from eBay for 60 that slotted straight in. Hope this helps, and good luck!
