Spoke to a very helpful auto spark and he phoned a friend who is a Renault mechanic and told him that the lead is a fused power lead which feeds the starter motor. Now this guy said this part could be picked up for around 50 but ive phoned Renault parts and they say it is part of the loom hence 450.

As this is basically a fuse thats blown surely there should be a work around.
Ive removed the red plastic sleeve and all it is is the power lead is crimped into this metal fuse/gizmo. I have also removed a little cover which shows where the fuse has blown.

Anyone any ideas as to a work around for this?
