Heavy duty fuses need heavy duty cable - so there is probably no option but to put on the heaviest cable under the bonnet. I have seen similar type fuses used on boats but they have been incorporated into the battery terminal connector. Such fuses also need to be protected by a heat or flame proof barrier because of the heat and posible flash created when they blow. But you would have thought the design should allow replacement without having to replace the loom
