This is one of the great myths of MOT's,but a wrong one!

Reverse lights are not MOT testable.

Front foglights and spot lights are not testable.

Spare wheels will only fail an MOT if they are mounted under a car and they are insecure, apart from that they are not testable. We can obviously advise on the condition of a spare wheel and tyre if we can see it,but as it is not a legal requirement to have a spare,it cannot fail an MOT.

We don't use the same rules as the Police do(they use construction and use laws) so you could still get into trouble even if your car has passed an MOT to a perfect standard......It gets complicated!

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
