Read any Marque specific forum and you will read enough horror stories to put you off. The point is the majority of people who post do so when they have a problem, not when they do not.

I have owned several brands of cars, Triumph, Ford, Austin (BL) now Renault. I have also driven several different brands. As cars are mechanical they can have problems, I think Renault did have probles with build quality and electrics for a while they seem to be getting better.

From my experience I would say that you need to take your time researching the car you are interested in and it's common issues before test driving and looking at as many as possible, don't rush into it.

That way you should end up with a good buy, thats what I did with my Scenic, Research, Test purchase. End result one pretty happy owner.

Besides if you have done all the above and have problems, I know of a certain forum that can help in most cases.
