Yeah the mirrors on the latest Citroens operate in the same way.
However, I know 3 people that have had Peugeots with folding mirrors and 4 people (including myself) with Citroens with folding mirrors - we have all had problems with the mirrors not folding back. A friend has a brand new C5 and has had 2 new mirrors in 2 mths, another friend has had 2 206 mirrors, the 3rd has failed but he can't be bothered to get it fixed anymore.
So whilst PSA (Citroen/Peugeot) have got the theory right, in practice they have a lot of work to do sorting out reliability. Because everybody I know with this type of car/efm's has had problems.
I have not heard of any (amazingly for Renault) faults with EFMs on Renaults, but I stand to be corrected, as i am sure people have had them fail.
