Hey guys maybe I am number 2000 000 with this problem,

I ve got a Scenic 2 from 2004 DCI so what i have done is, I blocked the exhaust from the EGR housing,so I went good but I ve got a code its called P0487 on my all car diagnostic and DF209 on my Icarsoft Renault specific,I have cleaned the electrical part of the EGR and i could move by hand the mechanical part of it, I checked the values with both scanners and I think the system is ok.

So does anyone experianced this code and who can tell me what it is,do i need to place a new EGR valve of is it that the system notice i blanked it?

The codes relate to an EGR position issue.

Which may be in response to the valve being able to move and needing to relearn positions.
Or because it isn't moving and thus showing a fault.

When you say blanked, what have you done ??
Details so we can advise with some knowledge of your system, not just what should happen.

The Blanking part... I bought from E-bay a blanking plate and 2 gaskets, there is a pipe behind the EGR housing, wich is the connection tube from the exhaust to the EGR, it has 2 bolts m8 and on that point I placed the blanking plate there and its done.

I think that you may just be in the position that with a freely moving EGR, the positional limits have changed a little so it is throwing the error up.
These beasties do self learn (or rather the ECU does) and the errors and warning may clear in a few days.
If not, it is plug in a suitable diagnostic and tell the ECU it has a new EGR...called setting the adaptives.
Basically the thing cycles to open and closed limits and records the readings, treats them as "normal"
@fallguy, this is not the same problem as you have.

Just to check, your EGR looks like this one?
May be an alum can on the top.

I'd take the valve out.
Pins 1&5 are the 12 volt supply.
Putting power across should show the valve opening and closing.
Pin 3 not used
Pins 2&4 are the ends of the potentiometer, should measure a resistance of around 2400 ohms
Pin 6 is the wiper that moves.
With valve closed low resistance to pin 2, high to 4 and should change as valve opens.

At plug, with ignition on, 12v across 1&5 (measured)
5v on pin 2

Right... measured it and tested the electrovalve and concluded its ok, so did some more research and concluded i cant fool the system itself... meaning i need of drill a hole in the blanking plate just enough so the system accepts it or.... just find myself a tuning company wich is able to program the egr part out of the system

And we re back, so solved this bugger, I ve bougth a Icarsoft and found out it was this annoying microleaks mailfunction df207 if I can remember, so after blowing my crankcase bearings placed a another engine unit and so on, the next annoying thing occured the fuel sensor on the fuelrail was failing, sometimes it worked sometimes it wont.

Conclusion.... when it happend a bad minus to the engine so I ve bought a few 16mm2 cables placed one directly on the chassis and one on the battery minus and my problems are solved so its very important to have a good minus.
