Not sure if the brake switch is the same as the megane or scenic but yes, the switch can cause problems. The computer is programmed to cut off power when the brake switch is activated, And here's a possible solution, The switch has an adjustable plunger ( see pics)

Pull out the plunger as in picture and refit,(ratchet type which can be difficult) the switch will self adjust with the brake (as per the manual)
