Re: RX Rear disc removal, prompt/any advice needed

Hi, not sure if the RX4 is any different but when i did my rear brakes on scenic 1.9DCI 2002 the discs were all in one with the bearings etc, so i had to remove the calliper and mounting, then remove the 30mm hub nut, which undoes anti clockwise on both sides, and then pull off the rear disc complete with bearing.

I never disconnected the handbrake cable i did have to rewind the brake piston back in which was clockwise on both sides, but did have a rewind tool which made it really simple and quick.
You may struggle trying to push hard as well as turn the piston using the cube.

Did job and tightened the hub nut to 175nm

Just a thought though that if you have torx screws on the discs then i would think that your discs are separate from your bearings.

Hope this may help you.
