I'd have a proper diagnostic test done at a decent independant dealer or Renault specialist first.

In my experience, common rail diesels usually have a code stored for a glow plug fault,but it's not the cause of the light coming on.There must be something else in the system that is causing the fault,and it would be worth having it properly diagnosed before you start randomly replacing/cleaning things!.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
