Exclamation Scenic or Megane Recall - Suspension Failure

Someone was telling me the other day that he had heard of a dangerous fault with the Renault Megane and Scenics relating to the suspension (and other makes and models of car).

It goes like this.

When the car is jacked up from the front and then lowered again some of the suspension components do not re-seat correctly causing the geometry to be put out of alignment. If the car is then used after this for a period of time accelerated component wear occurs and the front suspension is likely to fail completely.

He also mentioned McPherson struts and the Which site.

I can not find any reference to this type of problem anywhere on the Internet.

Can anyone confirm of deny this problem and if so give more accurate information including a link to any sites that have more info.
