Laguna 2 estate rear wiper arm removal

Stumbling at the 1st hurdle here....

Having removed the circular nut cover now comes removing the 13mm nut that holds the wiper arm on.

I'm holding the base of the wiper arm as tightly as I can and applying a lot of force to the nut but despite my efforts it refuses to budge.

I opened the glass so it was horizontal and put some release fluid on the nut and let it sit for half an hour but still no go.

Anyone had a similar problem removing this nut and got any tips for getting it loose without damage?
