I took it to my local garage today, having thought that it wasn't the coolant sensor and they tested the
and flagged the CTS up straight away as being the problem! Tested and replaced for £40.
At home simply testing the resistance when cold didn't give me a reading at all, (on both old and new sensors) and a normal one when hot so I guess from my experience if it's a sensor/
problem, get it checked for £10 and don't waste your time!
